Article body
Newly-promoted Cypriot club Nea Salamis FC have stated their intent for next season by signing English midfielder Paul Tait.
Wembley winner
The 31-year-old, who as a Birmingham City FC player in April 1995 scored the first 'golden goal' in a Wembley final, has joined from English side Oxford United FC on a free transfer. Tait has agreed a 12-month contract with the Larnaca-based club.
Polish double
Salamina have also made a double swoop for Polish attackers Krzysztof Klosinski and Krzysztof Bukalski. Striker Klosinski has played for Klub Sportowy Groclin Dyskobolia in Poland and was a popular figure grabbing 21 goals in 56 appearances for the club. Bukalski played for Wanda Krakow, Hutnik Krakow, Wisla Krakow and GKS Katowice. In between, he had a spell in Belgium with Racing Genk. He has also been capped 17 times by Poland.
Coach satisfied
Coach Takis Antoniou is delighted with the new signings, and claimed he took the decision after careful consideration. Salamina president Diofantos Chrysostomos added that the new faces are the most expensive players in the club’s history.
