Article body
Peter Kabat has joined PFC CSKA Sofia from local rivals PFC Levski Sofia on a two-year contract.
Key player
Kabat moved to Levski on a free transfer in mid-December after a clash with his previous club Göztepe over the payment of his wages. He has since been one of Levski's most important players, scoring crucial goals and shining in a couple of derby games.
Financial demands
However, Kabat's contract expires at the end of the current season and Levski's board of directors turned down his financial demands after he rejected the club's offer of a new contract. CSKA wasted no time in offering the player a contract, which he accepted only a day after the CSKA's 1-0 defeat against Levski in the Sofia derby, in which Kabat did not play.
Second major move
The 24-year-old attacking midfield player has become the second Levski player to leave the club for CSKA in the space of a week following 17-year-old striking prodigy Dimitar Makriev joined CSKA for €50,000 - and almost immediately moved on to Internazionale FC of Serie A for an undisclosed sum.
Common practice
Levski signed two CSKA players on a free transfer last summer - defender Ivo Trenchev and midfield player Stanislav Angelov.
