Article body
Polish second division side Garbarnia Jaworzno took a giant step towards promotion to the Ekstraklasa tonight by beating first division RKS Radomsko 2-0 in the first leg of their relegation/promotion play-off.
Seeing red
Garbarnia took the lead in the 66th minute following a mistake by Radomsko defender Artur Prokop, who allowed Lukasz Blasiak to score from close range, and they increased their lead ten minutes later through a Robert Sztandera penalty. Five minutes from time, Radomsko's night got even worse when Marcin Nowak was sent off.
'We really want it'
"We are very, very happy," Miroslaw Stadler, Garbrania's coach, said after the final whistle. "We know the second leg will be much harder for us, but we want to be promoted. We really want it."
Single strike
In tonight's other match, second division Gornik Leczna lost 1-0 to KSZO Ostrowiec from the Ekstraklasa, with the winning goal coming in stoppage time from Marek Sokolowski.
