DSC Arminia Bielefeld and VfL Bochum 1848 will play 1. Bundesliga football next season after victories in the final round of second division matches today secured promotion.

Bielefeld, who were relegated two years ago, beat LR Ahlen 3-1 to secure second place behind champions Hanover 96. VfL Bochum also won 3-1, at Aachener Turn-und Sport-Verein Alemannia, to finish third. SC Freiburg, 1.FC Köln and FC St. Pauli have been relegated from the top flight.
