Belgian club K. Lierse SK have released coach Regi van Acker after a disappointing season.

Belgian club K. Lierse SK are looking for a new man to lead them next season after deciding not to renew the contract of current coach Regi van Acker.

Disappointing season
Van Acker could only lead the 1999 Belgian Cup winners to 15th place in this season's Jupiler league and the club has decided to look elsewhere for the next campaign.

Wrong man
Club manager Herman Van Holsbeeck said: "There was no healthy basis on which to start the next season with Van Acker. It didn't look right to continue with him." The Lierse board will meet on Tuesday to discuss possible replacements.
