Article body
Patrick Lodewijks, PSV Eindhoven's reserve-team goalkeeper, reached an agreement to join Eredivisie rivals Feyenoord today.
Timmer replaced
The 34-year-old has signed a two-year contract with the UEFA Cup winners and will replace the departing Henk Timmer, who had joined Feyenoord on a loan deal at the beginning of this season. As well as spending six seasons with Eindhoven, Lodewijks also played for FC Groningen for nine seasons.
Waiting in line
AZ Alkmaar had enquired about Lodewijks's services, but did not receive a positive response from PSV, who failed to give the keeper an extension to his existing contract, hence his departure from the 2001 Dutch champions. It is likely that he will be Feyenoord's second-choice goalkeeper behind Edwin Zoetebier.
