FC National Bucuresti go into the last round knowing victory would give them their first title.

FC National Bucuresti go into tomorrow's last round of matches in Romania knowing that victory would give them their first league title.

One-point lead
National, who have 58 points before their trip to take on FC Universitatea Craiova, have a one-point advantage over city rivals FC Dinamo Bucuresti, who have an easier match in prospect at home against FC Brasov. As well as the honour of becoming champions, there is also the incentive of UEFA Champions League football for the team that finishes first. The second-placed team will go into the UEFA Cup.

Intriguing battle
There is also an intriguing battle for third place, with an outside chance it could become a UEFA Cup qualifying position. The two sides involved are FC Steaua Bucuresti and CD Otelul Galati, both on 49 points. Steaua are away at SC Astra Ploiesti while FC Rapid Bucuresti play host to Otelul.

All to play for
On 5 June, Rapid are in the Romanian Cup final against Dinamo. If Dinamo do triumph tomorrow and win their 16th league championship then Rapid will know they are guaranteed entry into the UEFA Cup before the final is played. However, if National win the title, and Dinamo the FA Cup, then third place will become a UEFA Cup qualifying position.
