Teenage PFC Levski Sofia striker Dimitar Makriev has joined local rivals PFC CSKA Sofia for €50,000.
Professional contract
The 17-year-old was a stand-out performer in Levski's youth team throughout the season and has made two first-team appearances in the Bulgarian Professional League. He will sign a permanent contract with CSKA at the start of July when he celebrates his 18th birthday.
Internazionale option
However, it remains a distinct possibility that Makriev will never play a game for CSKA since he has spent several days training with Serie A side Internazionale FC this week and the Milanese side have the opportunity to bring him to Italy on a permanent basis after he signs his professional contract with CSKA. Former CSKA coach Luigi Simoni was sufficiently impressed with Makriev to send a video tape of him in action to scouts at Internazionale - the club where he used to coach.
