Female referee is Polish first

Emilia Wnuk has become the first woman to referee a match in the Polish second division.

History was made in the Polish second division match between Orlen Plock and KS Myszkow when Emilia Wnuk became the first woman to referee a match at that level in Poland.

'Good report'
Polish Football Federation president Michal Listkiewicz said: "We have experimented today. Mrs Wnuk received a good report from the delegate, coaches at the players.She is now working in the fourth division and we believe she will pass the exams and work in the third, and then the second division."

Group system retained
Meanwhile, it has been confirmed that next season the Polish first division will again split into two groups, with the top four from each competing for the championship and the remaining eight teams playing off to avoid relegation.

Legia Warszawa, KP Polonia Warszawa, Odra Wodzislaw, Pogon Szczecin, KS Górnik Zabrze, KS Groclin-Dyskobolia Grodzisk, Orlen Plock, KSZO Ostrowiec or Górnik Leczna (play-off this week)

Group B
Wisla Kraków, KS Amica Wronki, GKS Katowice, KS Ruch Chorzów, Widzew Lódz, Zaglebie Lubin, Lech Poznán, Odra Wodzislaw, RKS Radomsko or Garbarnia Szczakowianka Jaworzno (play-off this week).
