Keflavík continued their unbeaten start to the Icelandic Premier League season to go top of the table with 3-1 home win against previous leaders Fylkir.
Long-range effort
Johann Benediktsson put Keflavík ahead on 23 minutes with a long-range effort, and the lead was doubled not long after the hour mark by Gudmundur Steinarsson. Sverrir Sverrisson pulled one back for Fylkir with three minutes remaining, but the two-goal lead was restored before full time by Thorarinn Kristjansson.
Hjartarson hat-trick
Grindavík remain within two points of Keflavik after beating reigning champions ÍA Akranes 3-1. Gritar Hjartarson was the hero for Grindavik as he hit a hat-trick, while Gritar Rafn Steinsson scored a consolation for ÍA, who are yet to win a point, in the 66th minute.
