Icelandic Premier League newcomers KA Akureyri are up to third place after keeping up their unbeaten start with a 1-0 home victory over city rivals Thór Akureyri.

Asgeir Asgeirsson opened the scoring with a deflected tenth-minute free-kick, and the strike proved to be enough for KA's first league win of this term, allowing them to leapfrog their beaten neighbours in the table.
