The surprise result of round ten of the Estonian league season saw JK Tulevik Viljandi beat last season's runners-up FC TVMK Tallinn 3-1.
Borissov opener
The result allowed FC Levadia Maardu to leapfrog FC TVMK, who are now in third place but still have a game in hand on the teams above them. Veteran playmaker Andrei Borissov gave FC TVMK the lead after 16 minutes, but Konstantin Nahk pulled the hosts quickly back into the game with an equaliser from the penalty spot just four minutes later. Tulevik dominated the second half, international striker Dmitri Ustritski scoring his ninth goal of the season to lift him to the top of the goalscoring charts before Janno Jürisson added a third goal ten minutes from time.
Struggle for leaders
Leaders FC Flora Tallinn were forced to fight until the end for a 3-1 win against bottom-of-the-table FC Levadia Pärnu, despite racing into an early 2-0 lead. Raio Piiroja scored the first just before half-time and substitute Joel Lindpere hit the second only two minutes after coming off the bench. But the visitors fought until the end with Indrek Joost pulling one back before Lindpere wrapped up the points.
Maardu go second
Maardu, the 1999 and 2000 Estonian champions, overcame FC Levadia Tallinn 3-0. Early goals from Mark Svets and Vladimir Tselnokov were followed by a third strike from Ukrainian striker Serhiy Chopyk as Maardu moved into second place, just one point behind Flora.
Trans win derby
Elsewhere, the north-eastern derby between JK Trans Narva and FC Lootus-Kohtla Järve was decided before half-time as Trans's 19-year-old midfield player Nikolai Lõsanov scored twice inside the first 31 minutes. Dmitri Lipartov and Sergei Kazakov then added one apiece before left-back Andrei Skaleta hit a consolation goal for Lootus. It was Trans's first match under the interim player-managing duo of Aleksei Yagudin and Sergei Zamorski.
