Article body
The Romanian first division club FC Farul Constanta have appointed former referee Marcel Lica as their new club president.
'I owe a lot to this club'
The 45-year-old, who would have had to step down as a referee this year because of his age, said: "I live in Constanta and I owe a lot to this city and especially to this club."
Hagi controversy
Meanwhile, Farul’s supporters want their stadium name changed. The ground is named after the former Romanian international midfield player, Gheorghe Hagi. However, Hagi, who attempted to buy shares in the club but was turned down, recently claimed to be an FC Steaua Bucuresti supporter much to the disgust of Farul's supporters.
