Two more Romanian clubs have changed coaches since the end of the season.
All change
After Dumitru Dumitru took the helm at FCM Bacau and Ilie Dumitrescu was placed in charge at FC Brasov, CF Gloria Bistrita 1922 and FC Ceahlaul Piatra Neamt have changed their coaches. Remus Vlad has replaced Constantin Carstea at Gloria while Ceahlaul have yet to reveal who will replace Marin Barbu.
Health reasons
Carstea, 53, has stood down after nine years at Gloria because of health reasons. Vlad, a highly-experienced trainer, has been placed in charge and will guide the team through the UEFA Intertoto Cup campaign.
Financial restrictions
Ceahlaul have released Barbu because they cannot afford his contract. The 44-year-old was appointed in October 2001 and, despite financial restrictions, was able to guide the team to a creditable eighth place finish.
Replacement not revealed
There are financial problems and that's why I had to do this," said club president Gheorghe Stefan. "Because of the financial problems, I can not say who will be the next trainer."
'Clear conscience'
Barbu himself was philosophical about having to leave the position. "This was my luck, this was my destiny," he said. "Life goes on, with good and bad. But I have a clear conscience, because I did a good job at Ceahlaul."
