FC Spartak Yerevan are the new leaders of the Armenian Premier League despite being held to a 1-1 home draw by city rivals FC Zvarnots AAL.
Late exchange of goals
Andranik Zanazanian seemed to have given Spartak all three points when he converted an 81st-minute penalty. However, Sevada Arzumanian equalised four minutes later to keep Zvartnots in touch with the top of the table.
One-point lead
Spartak move a point clear of FC Pyunik and FC Shirak, both of whom have 100 per cent records and two games in hand on the first-placed team after their scheduled match was postponed.
Ararat victory
FC Ararat Yerevan continued their good start to the season with a 3-2 victory at home to FC Lernayin Artsakh, thanks to a late winner from Aleksandr Tadevosian.
Hovhannisian winner
The visitors had led at half-time through a Marat Hovhannisian goal, but Edgar Safarian levelled the scores on 57 minutes. Five minutes later Tadevosian put Ararat ahead, only for Hovhannisian to swiftly equalise. However, with five minutes to go Hovhannisian completed his hat-trick to ensure the win.
