Second-half joy
With top side FC Pyunik having secured their fourth win in four at the start of the Armenian season on Saturday, Shirak kept up the pace with an excellent second-half display. Second-half goals from Karen Aleksenian, Artiom Hakobian and Ararat Harutyunian did the damage, with Ararat Ghazarian pulling one back for the home side.
Misery for Dinamo
FC Dinamo-2000 Yerevan were handed a 4-0 thumping at home against FC MIKA while FC Banants had no such problems at home against FC Lernagorts. Karen Navoyan fired them into an 18th-minute lead before Sergey Arakelian added a second nine minutes later. Armen Grigorian made the game safe eight minutes before half-time but the visitors restored some pride thanks to Samvel Nikolian's 59th-minute penalty.
