The hosts flew out of the blocks and broke the deadlock after just four minutes thanks to Hreinn Hringsson's strike and that lead was doubled within a minute when Thorvaldur Orlygsson struck.
The visitors regained their composure to reduce the deficit thanks to Adolf Sveinsson's effort, but the two-goal cushion was restored five minutes before half-time when Thorvaldur Makan Sigbjornsson scored. Hringsson notched his second with 25 minutes to go to seal the result.
