S.S. Lazio have completed a deal to bring AC Chievo-Verona's Christian Manfredini to the Olimpico stadium.

Impressive displays
The 27-year-old winger has joined the Rome club after impressing during Chievo's sensational first season in Serie A with the Lazio website simply reporting: "The football club Chievo Verona has reached an agreement with Lazio over the player Christian Manfredini."

Juventus experience
Despite starting his career as a youth trainee alongside Alessandro Del Piero at Juventus FC, Manfredini has spent several years in the wilderness in the lower Italian football leagues.

Itinerant career
The player, born in the Ivory Coast but adopted as a two-year old by an Italian family from Benevento, was loaned to Serie C sides AC Pistoiese, US Viterbese, AS Avezzano and Fermana Calcio before making a permanent move to Cosenza Calcio in 1998.

Roma disappointment
The left-sided player moved on to Genoa 1893 and subsequently to Chievo where he helped the side to achieve promotion to the top flight for the first time in their history at the end of the 2000/01 season. He had been linked with a move to Lazio's local rivals AS Roma but the transfer fell through in October.
