Fylkir remain top of the Urvalsdeild after drawing 1-1 with rivals KR Reykjavík on Thursday.

Fylkir continue to lead the way at the top of the Urvalsdeild after holding title rivals KR Reykjavík to a 1-1 draw in tonight's crucial top of the table meeting.

Heads up
Þeódór Óskarsson put Fylkir ahead with a great header in the 38th minute and the visitors were well worth their lead. However,
KR battled their way back into the match and eventually drew level with just eight minutes left when Gunnar Einarsson
headed home from a corner. The result leaves Fylkir a single point clear of KR after seven matches of the 2002/03 season.

Surprise, surprise
Third-placed Grindavík lost ground in the title race after slumping to a shock 4-2 home defeat against strugglers Thór Akureyri. Gunnar Konradsson gave Thór the lead after nine minutes when he prodded the ball home from close range after a free-kick had
sailed over the entire home defence and landed at his feet at the far post and Orri Freyr Hjaltalin made it 2-0 to Thór in the 34th
minute after latching on to Jóhann Þórhallsson's cross.

Hjaltalin double
If the home crowd were stunned at that point, things got even worse in the second half as Thór moved 3-0 ahead five minutes
after the interval. Hjaltalin was again the man on target, racing clear to score with a neat finish. Óli Stefán Flóventsson pulled
a goal back for Grindavík on the hour mark, but Þórhallsson restored Thór's three-goal advantage four minutes later after
intercepting Gudmundur Bjarnason's poor headed back-pass. Sinisa Kekic headed in a consolation for Grindavík just
a minute later.

Change at the bottom
In the remaining fixture, ÍA Akranes moved off the foot of the table and were replaced by ÍBV Vestmannæyjar after beating their rivals 4-1.Goals from Bjarki Gunnlaugsson, Hjartarson Hermann Þórsson and two from Hjörtur Hjartarson gave ÍA a 4-0 lead before Gareth Graham hit a last-minute consolation.
