Djurgårdens IF FF have suspended Abgar Barson after he refused to sign a new deal on Monday.

Djurgårdens IF FF implemented club policy regarding contracts today after Abgar Barson refused to sign a new deal with the Swedish side.

New deal
The Stockholm club have a rule that any player whose contract ends during the current campaign must sign a new deal prior to the first game of the season. If an agreement is not reached the player will not be allowed to participate in any games for the club.

Italian whisper
Amid rumours that the player could be on his way to Italy, the club's director, Bosse Anderson, said: "We've offered Barsom a new deal but he has declined, and that means that we have to adopt this rule and suspend him for the time being."

Out of action
Therefore attacking midfield player Barsom, the 2001 Swedish Rookie of the Year whose current contract expires on 30 November, will not feature for Djurgården until further notice.
