Sweden round-up: Hammarby off the bottom

Reigning Swedish fiirst division champions Hammarby IF FF lifted themselves off the foot of the table with a 3-1 win against GIF Sundsvall.

Bayern prospects
Boosted by yesterday's UEFA Champions League third qualifying round draw - which pits them against German giants FC Bayern München if they can get past Yugoslavian champions FK Partizan in the second round - they went for the visitors from the first whistle.

Lovely half-volley
Kennedy Bakircioglu opened the scoring after just four minutes with a lovely half-volley from outside the penalty area and then defender-turned-striker Peter Markstedt added a goal in each half to kill the game. Sundsvall struck back late on with a penalty from Fredric Lundqvist but it was not enough to worry the hosts.
