Reigning champions Brøndby IF kicked off the new Danish season with a 3-0 win against Silkeborg IF.
New-look side
Michael Laudrup's new-look side showed no mercy at the Brøndby stadium, but it took until two minutes into the second half for Mattias Jonson to force his way through the Silkeborg defence to score his side's opening goal.
Impressive display
Once they took the lead, there was no way back for Silkeborg as Laudrup's Brazilian-inspired tactics saw them produce some marvellous attacking football. Former Celtic FC player Morten Wieghorst scored the second - and his first for his new club - after 56 minutes, and Jonson capped an impressive display with his second goal seven minutes from time.
