Sweden round-up: Success at last for Norrköping

Members

IFK Norrköping lifted themselves off the foot of the table with a 1-0 win against Helsingborgs IF.

IFK Norrköping finally broke their barren run at home with a 1-0 win against title hopefuls Helsingborgs IF today to lift themselves off the bottom of the Allsvenkan.

Defensive error
The home side could thank an error in the Helsinborg defence and a stunning save by their own goalkeeper, Hungarian Balászs Rabóczki, for the win which lifts them out of the relegation zone.

Brilliant save
The only goal of the game came 21 minutes from time, when full-back Fredrik Bild pounced on a mistake in the Helsingborg rearguard. Soon after that, the visitors should have claimed a share of the points, when midfield player Lars Bakkerud found himself clear with just Rabóczki to beat but Rabóczki produced a superb save to deny him.

Title favourites
Helsingborg were among the favourites for the title before the season, but came into this match without suspended Brazilian striker Alvaro Sanos and injured Jozo Matavac, whose hip problem may have ended his career. They are now in fifth place with only 13 points from nine games and trail leaders Landskrona BoIS by five points.
