Aris call on Firos again

Georgios Firos has returned to FC Aris Thessaloniki for a third spell in charge of the Greek club.

Firos's appointment as successor to Bernd Krauss was confirmed yesterday, although the two parties had agreed terms two weeks ago. Firos knows all about Aris having played for the club for 12 years between 1971 and 1983 and later held the post of coach from 1992-95 and 1997-98.

'Won't be easy'
Firos said he was fully aware he faced a difficult task at a club suffering financial difficulties: "We know that our ride won't be an easy one, but we will certainly try to make our fans happy," he said. "If we all stick together, we can help Aris to overcome the difficult situation the team is in."
