Article body
Former Yugoslavia and FK Crvena Zvezda star Bosko Djurovski has been appointed as coach of newly promoted FK Radnicki Obrenovac.
Club legend
Djurovski signed a two-year-contract with Obrenovac after spending several years working as an assistant coach. The 41-year old midfield player made a record 584 appearances for Crvena Zvezda in the 1980s, before he moved to Swiss side Servette FC in 1990. After finishing his playing career in 1995 he stayed on as assistant coach at Servette until 1999. Coming back to Belgrade, Djurovski was assistant to current Crvena Zvezda coach Zoran Filipovic until the end of last season.
'Winning ambitions'
"I had a great wish to work alone as coach after having spent a lot of years as an assistant," said Djurovski. "It was a very difficult decision to leave Crvena Zvezda, but I could not wait any longer to be given a chance in my first-choice club. Obrenovac are at present investing a lot in their football and the club and me have the same winning ambitions."
Krivokapic steps in
After seeing Djurovski leave, Zvezda have named Milorad Krivokapic as their new assistant coach. Krivokapic, a former Crvena Zvezda defender and a one-time team-mate of Djurovski, has been assistant manager at Scottish side Motherwell FC for the last season.
Sutjeska hire Smiljanic
Meanwhile, FK Sutjeska have also appointed a new coach, with former Jordan international team coach Branko Smiljanic signing a one-year deal at the Niksic-based club. "I have come to Sutjeska because they are a respected football club," said Smiljanic. "What I appreciate in this club is that all duties are clearly defined and I have full freedom in my domain. I will insist on young players and attacking football."
