Megson, who took over as West Brom's manager in March 2000, oversaw the club's promotion from the first division last season after 16 years away from the top flight. The 43-year-old's future at West Brom had been in doubt in the close season after a boardroom row that ended in the resignation of former chairman Paul Thompson.
Peace and love
"We had always hoped that Gary would commit to the club as we embark on our first Premier League campaign," said West Brom's executive chairman Jeremy Peace. "A great challenge lies ahead in establishing our position in the top flight and we are delighted to have secured Gary's services in order to enable us to achieve this."
