Article body
Everton FC have completed the signing of Chinese international midfield player Li Tie on a year's loan.
World Cup experience
The 24-year-old has won 78 caps for his country and played in all three of China's 2002 FIFA World Cup games. Li Tie will join his international team-mate Li Weifeng at Goodison Park next season as part of the club's sponsorship deal with Kejian, a Chinese mobile phone company. The duo are expected to arrive on Merseyside within the next two weeks, subject to gaining work permits.
Watching brief
David Moyes, the Everton manager, said: "I travelled to the Far East this summer to watch some of the early rounds of the World Cup and while I was there I took the opportunity to watch the Chinese national side. In my opinion Li Tie is one of the best the Chinese team has to offer."
