Como brush up with Carbone

Benito Carbone has signed a two-year deal with newly promoted Serie A side Como Calcio and his agent is confident that his former club Bradford City AFC can agree a pay-off with the Italian.

'Beni is a Como player'
The 30-year-old midfield player had been training with Como over the summer and his agent Gianni Paladini has now confirmed that Carbone has in fact signed for the club. The news ends Carbone's controversial stay at Bradford, who he joined on a free transfer nearly two years ago when they were in the FA Premiership.

Bleak future
Since then the club have fallen on hard times and stand on the brink of bankruptcy. Bradford manager Nicky Law has claimed recently that the club would go out of business if Carbone refused to compromise on the reported €4.5m he is owed in wages. But Paladini said a deal could be struck between the club and player and that Carbone does not want to see Bradford go out of business. "There will be an agreement I'm sure between the two parties," he said. "Beni does not want Bradford to go bankrupt - definitely not.''
