Club Atlético de Madrid have loaned Yugoslav midfield player Zoran Njegus to Sevilla FC for a second successive season.
Stiff competition
The 29-year-old former Yugoslav international, who joined Atlético from FK Crvena Zvezda in 1998, had returned to pre-season training with the Madrid club, but looked to be unlikely to regain a place in the first team line up given the competition for places in midfield.
Spending spree
Earlier on Friday Atlético's Brazilian international Juninho agreed a deal to move to FA Premiership side Middlesbrough FC. Atlético, who return to the Spanish top flight after two seasons in the second division, have been keen to off-load players following a recent spending spree that has seen them recruit six new squad members, including striker Javi Moreno and midfield player Demetrio Albertini from Milan AC.
