Article body
A stunning opening 26-minute spell helped Myllykosken Pallo-47 to a comfortable 4-0 win over AC Allianssi and the outright lead in the Veikkausliiga on Monday.
Early lead
The hosts needed just five minutes to open the scoring when Toni Huttunen fired in, before their lead was doubled in the 16th minute as Brazilian midfield player Marco Manso kept his cool to convert from the penalty spot. The match was virtually over as a contest ten minutes later when Luiz Antonio Moraes blasted his effort into the bottom left corner of the net following Saku Puhakainen's clever pass.
Puhakainen on target
With the points all-but decided, the scoreline remained the same until the 73rd minute when Puhakainen picked up a pass from Miikka Multaharju to score his sixth goal of the season and MyPa's fourth of the night. "The first half-hour settled the match," admitted Puhakainen after the match.
Injury to insult
Adding injury to insult, Allianssi captain Rami Rantanen was substituted during the first half after twisting his ankle following a challenge by Antti Okkonen. "I can walk, but running or playing was impossible," said Rantanen.
One point clear
Allianssi, who suffered their second four-goal reverse in succession, are now sixth in the table with 22 points from 15 games. MyPa are a point clear of FC Inter Turku at the summit with 29 points from their 15 matches.
