Finland round-up: HJK hit the heights

HJK Helsinki hit the top of the table with a 4-0 win against KuPS Kuopio on Wednesday.

Two goals each
Two goals each from Hannu Haarala and Mika Kottila gave Helsinki an emphatic win. Haarala opened the scoring in the 29th minute when he converted a neat pass from Ton Kallio, before Kottila joined him on the scoresheet eight minutes before the break.

One point clear
Haarala struck again nine minutes after half-time and four minutes later Kottila scored his second. The result puts HJK one point clear of Myllykosken Pallo-47 at the Veikkausliiga summit, while KuPS are third from bottom with just 12 points from 13 matches.
