Article body
Second-placed FK Atlantas missed their chance to close the gap on 1. Lyga leaders FBK Kaunas as they lost 1-0 at lowly KASK FK Gelezinis Vilkas today.
Balcunias strike
Atlantas, seven points adrift of Kaunas, fell behind in the fifth minute to a goal by Laimonas Balciunas and could not come up with the equaliser which would have made up vital ground in the championship race. The gap back to third is still nine points after FK Zalgiris Vilnius were beaten 2-0 at FK Inkaras.
Inkaras go fourth
Vidas Kauspadas struck a penalty in the 14th minute and Donatas Navikas added the second ten minutes from the end of the match to tie up three points and lift Inkaras up one place to fourth. Elsewhere, heavy rain forced the postponement of SFK Sakalas's home match against FK Suduva after 34 minutes, the only other match today.
