Early goal
Andrius Velicka opened the scoring for Kaunas in the fifth minute with his 17th goal this season and two penalties by Marius Bezykornovas put the game out of Gelezinis' reach by half-time. Remigijus Pocius got Kaunas' fourth, with Saulius Laibinis grabbing a consolation for the visitors after 33 minutes.

Six points clear
The result leaves Kaunas clear at the top with 51 points from their 20 games played this season, six points clear of second-placed FK Atlantas, who have played a game more though.
