'Attractive offer'
Karpin has agreed a one-year deal with the San Sebastián outfit after his contract with Celta expired on 30 June. "When I decided not to stay with Celta, the chance of a return to Real was the most attractive option," he said.
Back to the future
The 33-year-old spent two seasons with Real in the mid-1990s before joining Valencia CF. He becomes the Anoeta club's second summer buy after Gabi Schurrer from UD Las Palmas.
