FC Metalurh Zaporizhya were unable to reproduce their UEFA Cup form against FC Vorskla Poltava.

FC Metalurh Zaporizhya suffered a narrow defeat against FC Vorskla Poltava in a rearranged fixture last night.

Makovei penalty
Zaporizhya were unable to repeat the form shown in their confident 3-0 first-leg win over Malta's Birkirkara FC in the UEFA Cup qualifying round as they went down to a 16th-minute penalty from Ihor Makovei. The result leaves them second from the bottom in the table.

Baston dismissed
Aside from dropping points, Zaporizhya also lost Romanian striker Daniel Baston to a one-match ban, after he was sent off in injury time. The victory was Vorskla's third in a row and they will take on defending champions FC Shakhtar Donetsk in their next league game.
