Rahim gets West Ham chance

West Ham United FC have strengthened their squad by signing Trinidad and Tobago midfield player Brent Rahim.

The English Premiership side have taken Rahim on loan from Bulgarian club PFC Levski Sofia until January with a view to a permanent transfer. The 25-year-old was recommended to West Ham by former goalkeeper Shaka Hislop, an international team-mate of Rahim.

'He has done enough'
"He is a relatively young midfielder who has done enough in training since he has been here with us to warrant giving him an opportunity until the next transfer window," West Ham manager Glenn Roeder told the club's official website. "If he does well we will attempt to keep him, and if he doesn't come up to what we want we will let him go back to his club in Bulgaria."
