Second term
Jordania was chosen for another four years in the office despite a challenge from David Petriashvili and Vazha Chkhaidze at the GFF's fifth congress meeting.
'Strong and friendly football family'
"Today I saw that we have a very strong and friendly football family," said Jordania. "All of them have seen what we have achieved during the last four years."
Support from Chivadze
"I knew the elections would finish with this result because Merab has done many things for Georgian football," said national team manager Alexander Chivadze.
Impressive career
Jordania, 41, had an impressive playing career for FC Dinamo Tbilisi, FC Lokomotiv Tbilisi, FC Guria Lanchkhuti, FC Shevardeni-1906 Tbilisi and Icelandic outfit Stjarnan. In 1992 he was named as president of Dinamo, leaving in 1998 to take up the GFF post.
