Floventsson on target
Oli Stefan Floventsson, Gretar Olafur Hjartarson and Scott Ramsey gave Grindavík a three-goal advantage after 68 minutes, before Björn Vidar Asbjörnson reduced the deficit for Fylkir. Rivals KR Reykjavík can go top if they win at Fram Reykjavík on Monday evening. 

'Best performance'
Grindavík coach Bjarni Johannsson was delighted with his side's display having watched his troops dominate from the first whistle. "It was our best performance this summer," he said after the match. 

Akranes in charge
Keflavík lost 2-0 against ÍA Akranes, as goals from Kari Steinn Reynisson and Ellert Jon Björnsson settled the outcome. The comfortable win put Akranes in to fifth position with 19 points, while Keflavík have been pushed back to eighth place.

Möller equaliser
KA Akureyri and FH Hafnarfjördur shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw, as Hreinn Hringsson scored for KA 12 minutes from time, only to see Johann Möller restored parity at the death.

ÍBV up to seventh
In Saturday's action, ÍBV Vestmannæyjar climbed to seventh place after recording a 3-1 win at Thór Akureyri which left Thór with 13 points after ten matches. Gunnar Heidar Thorvaldsson gave IBV in lead, but Johann Thorhallsson equalized before Bjarni Geir Vidarsson and Bjarnolfur Larusson sealed the victory.
