Lódz lure Marinho back to Poland

Widzew Lódz have strengthened their squad by signing Brazilian winger Marinho Guliano dos Santos from Ituano FC in his homeland.

Coach and player reunite
Marinho had a successful loan spell in the Polish first division with Legia Warszawa two years ago, under the now Lódz coach Franciszek Smuda, but the club were unable to sign the player permanently because of financial constrictions. After taking over at Lódz, Smuda was eager to bring the right midfield player back to Poland where he has signed a three-year contract.

Positive outlook
Marinho joins fellow Brazilians Sergio Leandro Batata and Miguel Darci Monteiro at the club. "I came here because I want to help Widzew. I'll do everything to do so," Marinho said. However, he did not enjoy a winning start at the weekend as Lódz lost 3-2 at Wisla Plock.
