Veigar Pall Gunnarsson scored a hat-trick for KR Reykjavík to inspire his club to a 4-2 win against Fram Reykjavík in Laugardalur on Monday night which was enough to take the top position in the Icelandic league from Fylkir.
Stefansson opener
Eggert Stefansson scored the first goal for Fram after 34 minutes but within a minute Gunnarsson had restored parity and two minutes before half-time the sharp shooter was again on target to give KR a 2-1 lead at the break.
Long-range effort
Ten minutes before the final whistle Agust Gylfason hauled Fram back into the match with a stunning long-range effort but there was still time for Sigurdur Ragnar Eyjolfsson and Gunnarsson to get on the scoeboard and seal the win for KR.
