Fylkir maintained their leadership of the Icelandic Urvalsdeild on Sunday thanks to a thrilling 3-2 win against strugglers Fram Reykjavík.

Fram go ahead
Fram went ahead after just eight minutes when Thorbjorn Sveinsson latched on to Omar Hakonarson's through pass to fire the ball into the net. The league leaders pulled level in the 32nd minute though, Hrafnkell Helgason planting a solid header in the net from close range.

Tails up
Fylkir had their tails up after the equaliser and pressed forward, resulting in another goal to go 2-1 ahead three minutes before half-time. Saevar Gislason was the man on target, ending a great solo run which saw him go past two challenges with a neat finish.

Gislason's second
The match was over as a contest six minutes after half-time when Gislason netted his second of the night. Dadi Gudmundsson grabbed a last-minute consolation for Fram.

KR stay level
Second-placed KR Reykjavík remained level on 27 points with Fylkir after winning 2-1 against KA Akureyri. KR went 2-0 ahead through Sigurvin Olafsson's free-kick and a superb long-range effort from Thormsdur Egilsson before Johann Helgason prodded the ball into the net after 77 minutes for the home side.

Gudmundsson on target
Elsewhere, Keflavík had Haraldur Gudmundsson to thank for an equaliser five minutes into injury-time as they secured a 2-2 draw against Thór Akureyri.

Monday game
In Monday night's game FH Hafnarfjördur came back from a goal down to earn a point from their clash with mid-table rivals ÍA Akranes, who are two points and one place behind FH in sixth, took the lead after 21 minutes through Gardar Gunnlaugsson.

Share of the spoils
However the home side claimed a share of the spoils when Atli Vldar Bjornsson netted after 66 minutes. FH are now ten points adrift of leaders Fylkir and seven points above bottom-club Thor after 13 games.
