CS Sedan-Ardennes have signed veteran Dutch midfield player Tarik Oulida on a one-year contract after a month-long trial at the French club.
From Holland to Japan
The 28-year-old began his professional career with AFC Ajax in 1994/95 but only played one season in the Netherlands before heading to Sevilla FC in Spain. His next move was to Japan, where Nagoya Grampus enjoyed his services for four seasons.
Coach impressed
Oulida impressed Sedan coach Henri Stambouli so much in three friendlies that he was offered a contract. "We only had one left-footed player left in our squad", said Stambouli. "It is important to have the right balance in a team."
Good technique plus experience
"Tarik proved during the friendlies that he had good technique," added the coach. "He also fitted into the group well and that is vital for us. He also has some experience and has greater maturity than many other players in the team. The squad is pretty young and full of enthusiasm but sometimes lacks experience on the pitch, which is not the case with Tarik."
