Two goals from Rafael van der Vaart helped AFC Ajax to claim the first honours of the Dutch season with a 3-1 Super Cup victory against PSV Eindhoven today.

The kick-off was delayed by 80 minutes after PSV fans prevented the team coach leaving Eindhoven. Despite Mateja Kezman opening the scoring, the side then failed to get out of first gear.
Van der Vaart the victor
Van der Vaart equalised with a header shortly before half-time and, after Egyptian Mido had put Ajax into the lead, struck his second on 76 minutes to wrap up the match.
