Article body
HJK Helsinki took another step towards the Veikkausliga title at the weekend when a goal from Jaro Ilola was enough to secure a slim 1-0 win against FC Inter Turku.
Palkki on target
It was Turku's fourth consecutive match without a goal and they have now slipped back to fifth place in the table. Teuvo Palkki scored the first goal for FC Hämeenlinna against FC Lahti, as the home team took the lead but Timo Marjamaa levelled the game shortly before half-time. However, Hämeenlinna were able to end their ten-game spell without a win, as Alex scored to push his side in to tenth spot.
Jazz off colour
FC Jazz continued to struggle after conceding five goals against AC Allianssi. Tomi Niemi had a torrid time in the Jazz goal, as Allianssi cancelled out Rodrigo's early double with five unanswered strikes to leave Jazz propping up the standings.
Scheweleff the hero
Henri Scheweleff was the hero as VPS Vaasa beat FF Jaro 3-1. Scheweleff connected with Ville Priha's cross to secure the points, while provider turned scorer as Priha got his name on the scoresheet.
