FC Haka moved up to second in the Veikkausliiga tonight after Valeri Popovitch scored both goals in a 2-1 home victory against FF Jaro.
Strong position
The 32-year-old Popovitch opened the scoring at the Tehtaankenttä stadium in the 12th minute to send Haka in a goal to the good at the interval. The same player was on target three minutes into the second half to put Haka into a seemingly unassailable position.
Eyeing the leaders
Jaro pushed for an opening but only had Ridvan Zeneli's goal in the final minute to show for their efforts. Haka's win moves them to within three points of leaders HJK Helsinki with a game in hand.
