Finland round-up: Haka leave it late

Members

FC Haka left it late to beat AC Allianssi in the latest round of Veikkausliiga matches.

In-form FC Haka left it late to beat AC Allianssi but a brace from Jukka Ruhanen and another from Ville Vaisanen saw them move into second place in the Finnish Veikkausliiga in the latest round of matches.

Haka take control
After coming off largely second best in the first half, Haka made three substitutions after the break and began to take control of proceedings. They were rewarded when Ruhanen finally broke the deadlock 14 minutes from time with a strike into the top corner following a pass from Lasse Karjalainen.

Lead doubled
Vaisanen, freed by Valeri Popovits, doubled Haka's lead six minutes later and Ruhanen wrapped up a 3-0 win a minute from full-time.

HJK top
The result moves Haka, who are now unbeaten in seven games, to within three points of HJK Helsinki who won 1-0 at KuPS Kuopio the day before.

Kottila goal
The leaders were made to work for all three points by a team fourth from bottom, however, and it was not until 12 minutes from time that Mika Kottila found a way through the home side's defence.

Problems for MyPa
Third-placed Myllykosken Pallo-47 had similar problems overcoming lowly FC Jazz until Tuomas Kuparainen scored the only goal of the game, in the 68th minute.

Rare win
Rock-bottom VPS Vaasa scored a rare win with a 4-2 victory over fellow strugglers FC Hämeenlinna. Henri Scheweluff scored two, while Mikko Korhonen and Christian Sund each scored one apiece, to make sure of the win.

Win for Jaro
Lasse Peltonen and Jani Sipila scored for Hameenlinna. Meanwhile two goals from Fredrik Svanback were enough to give FF Jaro a 2-0 win over FC Inter Turku.

Kuqi rescues a point
Njazi Kuqi scored two minutes from time to rescue a point for Lahti, as they came from behind to draw 1-1 with Tampere United, who had earlier gone ahead through Jari Niemi.
