Rosenborg BK went out of the Norwegian Cup against Viking FK while Tromsø IL also progressed.

Norwegian champions Rosenborg BK went out of the Norwegian Cup last night after a 2 -0 defeat by Viking FK in Stavanger.

First goal for five years
Goals from defender Bjorn Dahl and Thomas Pereira gave Viking their third victory over the men from Trondheim in as many games so far this season to send them into the last eight. Full-back Pereira's goal was his first for five years.

Tromsø surprise
First division side Tromsø IL pulled off the surprise of the evening with a 5-1 win at FK Bodø/Glimt, who are currently eighth in the Tippeligaen. Two of Tromsø's goals came from Norway Under-21 striker Morten Gamst Pedersen. Stabæk, Odds BK and SFK Lyn are also in the last eight with the final three places set to be resolved tonight.
