Örgryte IS stayed top of the Allsvenskan despite being held to a 2-2 draw by Helsingborgs IF at the weekend.
Santos double
Brazilian Álvaro Santos scored both of Helsingborg’s goals, opening his account eight minutes before half-time with a 20-metre effort and striking from close range on 40 minutes, after Robert Bengtsson-Bärkroth had powered in a header to level. However, the hosts refused to quit and Paulinho earned them a point 13 minutes after the interval.
Drugge the hero
Malmö FF could have leapfrogged Örgryte with a win but went down to a disappointing 2-0 defeat to mid-table IF Elfsborg. Young striker Andreas Drugge was the hero in his first start for the club, converting a header after 27 minutes and adding another from close range soon after.
Johansson decisive
Andreas Johansson scored the only goal of the game as Djurgården IF FF claimed a 1-0 home win over Kalmar FF at the Olympiastadion. Over 9,000 fans turned out to see the Stockholm-based club take all three points when Johansson drilled a penalty after he had been brought down by goalkeeper Petter Wasti. Kalmar's only chance came six minutes from time when Lasse Johansson saw his precise header saved by Djurgården keeper Rami Shaaban.
Hammarby disappoint
Champions Hammarby IF FF continue to flail after floundering to a 1-1 draw on Saturday with strugglers IFK Norrköping, who took a 1-0 lead through Fredrik Bild on 28 minutes. Hammarby looked jaded following Wednesday's 1-1 draw against Yugoslavians FK Partizan in the UEFA Champions League second qualifying round and were relieved to equalise through Peter Markstedt early in the second half. Both teams climbed one position in the league, Hammarby to tenth and Norrköping moving off the bottom.
