Agostino blow compounds 1860 woe

A thigh injury has ruled out TSV 1860 München striker Paul Agostino for three weeks.

TSV 1860 München’s start to the 1.Bundesliga season suffered a further blow today when Australian striker Paul Agostino joined midfield player Roman Týce and defender Martin Stranzl on the sick list.

Three months out
According to team doctor Erich Rembeck, the 27-year-old Agostino will be sidelined for at least three weeks after rupturing muscle fibres in his left thigh in a training session. A pre-season knee injury has already ruled out Týce for six months, while Stranzl is out of action until December after breaking a bone in his eye socket in another training ground accident.

Intertoto exit
Peter Pacult, coach of 1860, is looking for an improvement on last term's ninth-placed finish but has already seen the club eliminated from the UEFA Intertoto Cup after a 5-0 aggregate defeat by FC BATE Borisov in the second round. In the Bundesliga, the club bounced back from a 2-0 defeat by FC Hansa Rostock on the first day of the season to defeat Hannover 96 3-1 last weekend.
