PFC CSKA Sofia recorded their seventh Bulgarian Professional League win in a row today, narrowly overcoming PFC Cherno More 1-0 away from home to maintain their five-point advantage over local rivals PFC Levski Sofia.
CSKA in control
CSKA controlled the game for much of the first half but had to wait until the 71st minute for their decisive goal, Velizar Dimitrov scoring his fifth goal of the season. Cherno More substitute Ivo Mihaylov and Joao Paulo Brito of CSKA were both dismissed following the goal, the former for a reckless tackle.
Kushev hat-trick
Meanwhile, Martin Kushev scored a hat-trick to help PFC Slavia Sofia to a 4-0 defeat of PFC Spartak Varna and himself to the top of the goalscorers chart. Velimir Ivanovic scored Slavia's first goal in the 19th minute, before Kushev struck his ninth, tenth and eleventh goals of the season.
Youngsters spring surprise
The surprising result of the day saw a PFC Chernomorets Burgas side including seven youth team players hold PFC Lokomotiv Plovdiv to a 1-1 draw. Elsewhere, PFC Marek defeated PFC Lokomotiv Sofia 1-0, while FC Dobrudza earned their first point of the season with a goalless draw at home to PFC Rilski Sportist Samokov.
